About Us

Why are we different?

People who join Single Living do so because there is at least one area in their lives they are not happy with. It might be that they are feeling lonely, isolated or directionless, that they are finding it hard to cope with becoming single again, or because they would really like to find new friends or a long-term partner. Perhaps they have succumbed to the prevailing idea that it's easy - all you have to do is take up dating and everything will be sorted in no time. Unfortunately, life isn't that simple, and by and large if you're not 'ready' to date, then it isn't going to work for you. not in the long-term, anyway.

But just because you aren't entirely happy does not mean there is anything wrong with being single in itself. Plenty of people in relationships would love to have the freedom and opportunities afforded to singles. We believe therefore that the key to your future happiness does not necessarily lie in stopping being single. The important thing is to feel a sense of self-fulfilment - to be generally contented with your life.

For most people, partnership is a key ingredient in their happiness. But there are other key ingredients too, such as friendships, a varied and active lifestyle, and a sense of being in control of your own destiny. In fact, focussing all your energies on finding a partner can be a mistake. If you appear too anxious, it can be a real turn-off for your date. And if you haven't dealt with major issues in your past, you may find yourself talking too much about your ex or the terrible things they have done to you.

Our recommendation for almost anyone who is single is that you should concentrate on two separate issues:

1) dealing with problem issues, and

2) taking positive steps towards a better future.

Over the years, we have helped thousands of people do this - and we'd love to help you too if you want us to.
