Companions

Few things in life matter as much as friendships. It's possible to manage without many things - even a partner - but we all need friends. Use this section to rebuild your friendship base and, who knows, maybe even find that special new person.

Use the menu to visit different areas of Companions - or go straight to the Clublist. If you need help in understanding how the messaging system works, visit How to use the clublist.

Club etiquette

The Friendship Club can only operate effectively if members observe the basic rules. If someone contacts you, please reply. We cannot over-emphasise how important this is. Even if you only wish to say 'Thanks but no thanks', please take the trouble to do so. It is frustrating and upsetting to send out messages and get no responses.

Should you find a fellow member to be rude or offensive, or they claim no longer to be a member please se let us know use the feedback form and we will take immediate action.

To date or not to date?
Companions is NOT an introduction service. We do not matchmake, and many of our members are not looking for a new relationship at this time.

However, many people have found love through the club, after meeting up first on a friendship basis. If you are hoping to find a new partner, please be sensitive to the fact that people you contact may only be looking for friends, or else they may wish to take things forward one step at a time.

At Single Living, we strongly recommend that you don't actively seek a new partner until you are 'ready' to do so. Otherwise there is the danger that it might all go wrong quite quickly and you could get hurt again. For advice on getting ready to date again, go to Single Again.
