Single Living / Single Again
is committed to ensure that any personal data it obtains
about Members and others who use the site is processed fairly
and handled and stored securely in accordance with the requirements
of the Data Protection Act 1998.
This Policy is intended to explain to users
of the site how we treat your personal information.
What personal information do we collect? Why do we need
it?
When you become a Member we collect certain personal
information about you which we ask for on the Application
Form (online and offline); this includes your email address
(if applicable) and home contact details. We use this information
for normal membership administration purposes, to contact
you and to send you information about Single Living / Single
Again
This information will always remain confidential
(unless we are required by law to disclose it) unless you
have elected to make it public (for example by including
it on your Profile which is made available to other Members)
or unless we have your permission to pass it to others. You
can choose when you join whether to give this permission,
and if you change your mind later, all you need do is contact
us and we will record and act on your changed instructions.
Friendship Club members
If you join the Friendship Club you can decide what information
to include on your Clublist entry and this information
will be available to other Members who use the website
or request a copy by post; this includes your telephone
number and email address (we can advise you on how to
set up an email address which does not give away your
identity). If you no longer wish to be included on the
Friendship Clublist, then let us know and (depending
on what you choose) we can either suspend your membership
(in which case we will keep your details in case you
want to rejoin) or terminate it altogether (in which
case we will delete your Clublist entry from our system).
Changes to your personal information
Make sure you keep us informed when your address,
telephone number(s) or email address changes. You can do
this by emailing, telephoning or writing to us at any time.
Receiving information from Single Living / Single Again
From time to time we will send you information
about Single Living's / Single Again's activities, as well
as offers from other organisations which we think might be
of interest to Members.
We think that receiving this information
is an important Member benefit, but if you do not for any
reason wish to receive this information please let us know
at any time.
Note, we do not pass your name or contact
details to other organisations unless we have your permission
Links
We do include a number of links to other websites
which we think would be of interest to Members; we never
share any of your personal information with providers of
these other sites. Single Living / Single Again cannot however
be responsible for the privacy practices or content of any
linked sites, over which we have no control.
